Kohima: The annual plan size of Nagaland
for the current fiscal has been pegged at Rs 1,500 crore,
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said today.
The Centre has also allocated additional Rs 712 crore to
the state for implementation of revision of pay (RoP) to its
employees on the line of central pay structure, Rio told
newsmen at Dimapur on his return from Delhi.
The state government employees are already on a collision
course demanding enhanced salaries on the lines of the 6th
central pay commission and the government has asked them to
wait till the Centre provides the additional fund requirement.
The plan outlay for 2010-11 was finalized during a
meeting between Rio and Planning Commission deputy chairman
Montek Singh Ahluwalia in New Delhi yesterday.
Rio said the Centre agreed to look after the additional
fund requirement of the state for implementation of the RoP
and allotted Rs 712 crore against the state government?s
projected requirement of Rs 612 crore.
Prior to yesterday’s plan discussion, he met Union
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee during the meeting of chief
ministers of eastern states at Patna and apprised him about
the state’s special requirement. He also met Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh in this regard.
The state government could not table the full budget
during the March assembly session due to non-finalisation of
state’s annual plan size and presented a vote-on-account for
the first four months of the year.
With the finalization of the plan size, the government
will now present the full budget for the current year in the
assembly session in July.
