NPMHR urges Assam CM to intervene

A Nagaland human rights group has sought the intervention of Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in the abduction of a Nagaland government official and his driver at Hojai.



Kohima: A Nagaland human rights group
has sought the intervention of Assam Chief Minister Tarun
Gogoi in the abduction of a Nagaland government official and
his driver at Hojai.

The Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) in
a release here said today that the Nagaland government should
speedily pursue the case and track down the miscreants for the
release of the missing officer and his driver.

Child development project officer (CDPO) of Mokokchung
district, T Sashi and his driver were reported missing on June
4 from Hojai in Assam`s Nagaon district while on a personal
visit.

The Nagaland police have said that he was kidnapped
for ransom.
