Aizawl: A rally was organised here under
the aegis of 'Mizoram Against Corruption' on Thursday in support of
Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement.
Participants of the rally carrying placards and shouting
slogans thronged the area near Vanapa Hall though the
organisers could not obtain permission from the district
administration.
Speakers at the rally said India needed a strong Lokpal
to change the corrupt political system and corruption could be
rooted out only by changing the political system by enacting a
law for establishment of an independent investigating body.
The participants of the rally hoped that Anna's
anti-corruption movement would help in legislation of the
Lokpal bill, kept pending in Parliament for 42 years.
