Agartala: The role played by the Congress as Opposition in Parliament was embarrassing and cannot be accepted, Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo on Wednesday said.
"The role Congress played as Opposition in the Parliament was embarrassing. The members of the Gandhi family had induced the members from behind to play such irresponsible role, which cannot be accepted," Supriyo said at a press conference here.
"The corruptions done by the Congress during its last ten years tenure took the country backward. Now the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying hard to develop the country," he said.
He alleged there were corruption charges against the CPI(M)-led Left Front government in Tripura in implementation of central funds.
"BJP will not stay mute if the corruptions continue and will organise a stringent movement against the government. Now we are strong in Tripura and the margin of vote has increased in the state," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has many plans to develop the state, Supriyo said, adding, the Prime Minister had also directed all ministers to attach more importance to the North East.
