Shillong: The Meghalaya capital witnessed
the coldest night of this winter with mercury plummeting to
0.8 degree Celsius.
The maximum temperature recorded in the hill city was
13.4 degree Celsius, MeT officials said.
Rainfall in the past few days and effect of the western
disturbances had led to the cold condition, Deputy Director
General of Regional Meteorological Centre HG Pathak said.
Among other major cities in the Northeast, Guwahati
recorded a minimum of 8.8 deg C, while Kohima settled for 3.5
deg C. Itanagar, Imphal and Aizawl recorded a low of 5.8 deg
C, 6.3 deg C and 8 deg C respectively.
