Aizawl: Suspected Bru militants fired at a
truck injuring one person in Mizoram's Mamit district, police
said on Monday.
Around 15-20 militants armed with AK-47 rifles looted a
truck carrying timbers near Kanhmun village in Mamit district
and took away driving licenses, other documents and mobile
phones from the driver and passengers, who were all
non-tribals.
The militants fired at the truck and the bullets burst
two tyres of the vehicle and wounded one passenger, police
said.
Another report said that the miscreants also robbed
another truck inside Assam and fires several rounds.
Mizoram Police launched a combing operation, but the
militants had reportedly crossed over to Assam or Tripura.
