Tripura govt gives Rs 25 lakh for Sikkim quake

Agartala: Tripura government has donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in Sikkim in view of the devastating earthquake, official sources said on Sunday.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar yesterday in a letter to his Sikkim counterpart Madan Singh Chamling expressed his deep sorrow and sent a cheque of Rs 25 lakh for providing relief to the people affected by the quake.

Sarkar in his letter said, "The people of Sikkim have faced a disaster which has caused irrepairable losses to the lives and property of people. The people of Tripura express their deep sorrow at the loss."
