Agartala: In two separate incidents in Tripura, a school girl was raped and murdered while the other girl was gang-raped, police said here on Tuesday.
"The body of a Class nine student... was found at a deserted place in Kalshimukh in southern Tripura on Monday evening. She went out to meet a youth after talking to him on her mobile late Sunday," a police officer told reporters here.
The officer added that the girl was murdered after being raped. A youth, identified as Babu Mog, has been arrested for the crime.
In the other incident, a 16-year-old girl was gang-raped by four-five youths at Kanchanpur in northern Tripura when she was returning home from a local market on Monday evening. A youth has been arrested for his involvement in the case, the officer said.
