Guwahati: At least six persons were injured
by unidentified persons claiming to be ULFA in Tinsukia
district, officials said on Thursday.

The assailants armed with sophisticated sharp weapons
attacked people at Jagun along the Assam-Bangladesh border and
injured six of them seriously last night.

They left the spot after claiming themselves to be ULFA
cadres, they said.

The Army and police have launched massive operation to
track them out, they said.

Meanwhile, anti-talk hardline ULFA Paresh Baruah faction
today warned that "Indians residing in Assam will have to face
the effect of the colonial force`s operations on the
indigenous people".

In an e-mail to the media, the outfit`s `publicity
secretary` Arunudoy Dehotia said, "the ULFA condemns the
operations launched by the army`s Cobra Commando against the
indigenous people".
