Agartala: Outlawed insurgent outfits in Tripura who have shifted base from neighbouring Bangladesh to Myanmar were preparing subversice activities ahead of next years assembly elections in Tripura, an official of Assam Rifles has said.
"We have definite information that the ultras are preparing to launch subversive activities ahead of the assembly elections and our forces are ready," IG Assam Rifles, Maj Gen Satish Dua told reporters here yesterday.
"After shifting base from Bangladesh the ultras are trying to be active. All the four Assam Rifles battalions in Tripura have been alerted about the new development," he said.
