Jajpur (Odisha): A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy at a village in Odisha`s Jajpur district, police said on Saturday.
The accused, a class VIII student was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping the minor girl studying in class IV at Dandaghati village on Thursday evening, they said.
The girl who had gone out to play with friends was taken by Kulu Pradhan on pretext of giving her chocolates, they said.
The boy later raped her in an abandoned house in the village, police said, quoting the FIR filed by the girl`s father on Friday.
"On being informed we arrested the accused after registering a case against him," said Atulya Krishna Das, inspector-in-charge of Jenapur police station.
The accused was forwarded to the court which sent him to juvenile home, police added.
