Puri: A country boat ferrying 35 people capsised in the Chilika lake on Monday, but all the passengers safely reached the nearest land, police said.
Thirty-five people, including five women and three children, of Jashikuda village boarded the boat in the lake to reach Puri. The overcrowded boat capsized near Mahisa village due to an inclement weather, police said.
While most of the passengers swam to safety, others were rescued by the boatmen, co-travellers and locals.
