All semester examinations of BPUT postponed

All the semester examinations of Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has been postponed in view of the prevailing situation following the cyclone Phailin and resultant floods in Odisha, official sources said on Friday.

Rourkela: All the semester examinations of Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has been postponed in view of the prevailing situation following the cyclone Phailin and resultant floods in Odisha, official sources said on Friday.

The examinations will be held next month. All the semester examinations of BPUT, which were supposed to start from October 24 have been postponed. The decision has been taken following the cyclone. The examinations will start from November 4.

A new notification will be given soon, said Mihir Nayak, Registrar of BPUT.

"We have taken the decision following the natural calamities which created havoc in parts of the state. The examinations of all the post-graduate courses, which were supposed to be held on 24th of this month, would be held from 4th of November as per the new schedule," he said.

BPUT has adopted the principle of non-negotiable examination schedule after the university got shifted to Rourkela, from Bhubaneswar. However, the magnitude of the calamities was so high that the university had to revise its decision.
