Dalit houses burnt in Orissa village

Kendrapara (Orissa): The houses of lower
caste people were burnt by some unknown persons at a backward
village in Orissa`s Kendrapra district.

"At least three houses were set ablaze last night. We
are keeping a close watch on the situation," Superintendent of
Police in Kendrapara, Narsingh Bhol said.

Security was tightened in the village, he said.
A total of 50 houses were set ablaze by a mob recently
following violence in the village, the police said.
