J&K CM seeks support for release of Malkangiri collector

RV Krishna was abducted on February 16 by a group of 50 Maoists in Chitrakonda area.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has extended support to an Internet campaign seeking release of abducted Malkangiri District Collector RV Krishna.

Omar extended his support for release of the IAS officer on a campaign launched on micro blogging site Twitter.

"Abducted DM Vineel Krishna at Malkangiri is a very nice person. I seek support for his early and safe release," Omar re-tweeted last evening.

The chief minister sought to enlist the support of other micro-bloggers by urging them to re-tweet the message.

The 30-year-old Krishna was abducted on February 16 by a group of 50 Maoists when he was on a visit to the remote Chitrakonda area, a Maoist stronghold, to attend a camp for local development.
