Bhubaneswar: Reunited with junior
engineer Pabitra Majhi after his release by Maoists, his
mother today sought her son`s transfer from Naxal-affected
Malkangiri district.

"I am glad that my son has been freed after seven days
in captivity. But now I want him to be with me at least for
sometime," Parvati Majhi told reporters when her 22-year-old
son joined the family here after his release four days ago.

After serving in the tribal-dominated district,
Pabitra should be transferred to some other place so that he
would be able to be with the family, she said.

Pabitra would be able to work for the tribals even if
he is brought here, his mother said.

Celebrations broke out at Pabitra`s house at Salia
Sahi locality here when he arrived. His family members and
relatives distributed sweets and people danced to drum beats.

Pabitra and Malkangiri district collector RV Krishna
were abducted by Maoists on February 16 from Chitrakonda area
of the Naxal-hit district. Both of them have been released.
