Berhampur (Odisha): Local Congress leader and former chairman of Sheragada panchayat samiti Makara Gouda, who was seriously injured in an attack on him three days ago, died at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here on Monday.
The police said that 58-year-old Gouda was attacked by two unidentified persons with a sharp weapon at Dhabalapur while he was returning from Sheragada to his village Sunathara in a motorcycle.
He was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here for treatment immediately with multiple injuries and died while undergoing treatment, police said.
Though the exact cause of the attack was yet to be known, the police suspected previous enmity to be the cause.
