Maoist cadre arrested in Orissa

Rourkela: A Maoist, involved in
crimes including murder, was arrested with a pistol and
bullets at Bisra in Sundargarh district, the police said
on Monday.

The rebel, Rama Mahanta alias Dadhi Mahanta was
involved in the killing of surrendered Maoist, Kandri Lohar
alias Madhuri and her four-year-old son in February, 2011,
they said.

Mahanta was acting as area Commander in Digha and
Bhalulata areas and he has five cases pending at the bordering
Bisra and Bandamunda police station in Sundargarh district.

After being arrested yesterday at Jarbera village,
Mahanta was produced before a court here which remanded him to
jail custody, the sources said.
