Keonjhar: Armed Maoists have
lynched a man suspecting him to be a police informer and
abducted another in Orissa`s Keonjhar district, the police
said on Sunday.

Over 20 red rebels, including women, raided the house
of Sunaram Tudu (35) at Rebana village under Daitary police
station last night, dragged him out and beat him to death,
they said.

Tudu and his family members -- his wife, mother and
sister -- were asleep when the ultras got into the house. They
tied the women with ropes and killed Tudu.

Then the Maoists beat up another villager identified
as Trinath Mahanto and took him along with them. There is no
trace of Mahanto as yet, the villagers said.

This is the second such incident in five months. On
June 4, the ultras had shot dead one Tukuna Sahu after taking
him to nearby forest suspecting him to be a police informer.

Combing operation had been intensified and efforts are
on to nab the Maoists, the sources said.
