Rourkela: Two persons abducted by Maoists on Monday night have been released unharmed in Orissa`s Sundargarh district, police said Wednesday.

Bular Tirkey (28) and Suman Gudia (18) of B.Jharbeda village in K.Balang police station were kidnapped when they were returning home by a motor bike.

After getting the information. villagers of Jharbeda went to neighbouring Karda village en masse where the Maoists were having a meeting and appealed to them to release the two.

The youths were finally released last night. The police said they have received the information about the incident but there was no formal complaint.
Life in at least five villages under Relhatur panchayat including B.Jharbeda were badly hit due to Maoist menace since last year as the ultras have blasted at least seven government buildings like school and panchayat office.
About 3000 residents of these five villages had taken shelter in makeshift camps in K.Balang town for nearly six months. They had returned to their villages phase by phase
only two months ago following improvement in situation and appeal by Maoists to return, the sources said.

Panic gripped again in these villages after fresh abduction of the two youths of K.Jharbeda.
