Rourkela: With four more deaths reported in Sundargarh district, a total of six persons died of suspected sunstroke in the district in past two days where sweltering heat affected normal life.

Police said Bijaya Jsena (40) of Koelnagar area
fell senseless inside Mohapatra complex and died minutes after
doctors attended to him at hospital yesterday.

In a similar tragedy, one Gurumeet Singh (30) of
Dayanand Nagar died at Vedvyas while returning home on that
day, police said.

Two other suspected sun-stroke deaths were reported
from Jakeikala village, about 50 km from here, and at Rourkela
town on the same day, according to the police.

While Koila Munda (55) of Jakeikala died at
Birmitrapur hospital after being admitted in an unconscious
state, Ramesh Chandra Samal, a fourth grade civic employee,
died at Rourkela Government hospital under similar
circumstance.

The four deaths took place a day after two suspected
sunstroke deaths were reported in Sundargarh as the mercury
shot above 46 degree celsius, affecting normal life.
