Mysterious youth breaches Patnaik`s security

unidentified youth came close to the Orissa Chief Minister,
Naveen Patnaik at the venue of the Independence Day function
here on Sunday before being stopped by the police.

"The man who identified himself as Ashok Das, a BJD
worker from Kendrapara, managed to enter the inner security
ring around the chief minister but was stopped from proceeding
further," Deputy Commissioner of Police, Himanshu Lal said.

The incident took place when the chief minister was
about to leave the venue of the main parade at Mahatma Gandhi
Marg after unfurling the national flag and addressing the
people, he said.

The man, who was interrogated thoroughly, claimed
that he had no evil intention and that he simply wanted to
compliment Patnaik and apprise him of some problems, the DCP
said.

The commissionerate of police has ordered a probe
into the circumstances in which the youngman managed to
penetrate the three-layer security ring and reached very close
to the chief minister, a senior police official said.
