Naveen Patnaik to meet Arun Jaitley for central assistance towards cyclone 'Hudhud'

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and put forth Odisha's demand of central assistance towards the recent cyclone Hudhud during his six day visit to the national capital.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and put forth Odisha's demand of central assistance towards the recent cyclone Hudhud during his six day visit to the national capital.

"I shall be going to Delhi tomorrow and meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley regarding funds for the damage caused by cyclone Hudhud. I will also draw Jaitley's attention towards the clearance of the assistance announced for the state hit by cyclone Phailin last year," Patnaik told reporters here.

Patnaik, who is scheduled to leave for the national capital tomorrow, said he would also draw attention of the Union Finance Minister on different matters concerning the interest of the state. He will return to Bhubaneswar on November 9, according to sources.

Earlier, the chief minister had written to the prime minister after Cyclone Hudhud seeking a Rs 500 crore interim assistance relief and rehabilitation package. The Centre is yet to act on it.

Meanwhile, the collectors of the affected districts and head of different departments have submitted their reports on the damages due to Hudhud to the special relief commissioner.
