No question of re-alignment with BJD: Gadkari

BJP national president Nitin Gadkari ruled out any tie-up with erstwhile ally BJD, terming the Naveen Patnaik-led party as a "political betrayer".

Bhubaneswar: BJP national president Nitin Gadkari on Monday ruled out any tie-up with erstwhile ally BJD, terming the Naveen Patnaik-led party as a "political betrayer".

"The BJD of Naveen Patnaik is a political betrayer ... There is no question of a re-alignment with it in future," Gadkari said at BJP`s `Bhrastachar Hatao Samabesh` here.

Gadkari`s statement came after BJP legislature party leader K V Singhdeo requested that the party president, who is on his maiden visit to Orissa, should announce that there would be no future alignment with BJD.
"BJD is not far behind the Congress government at the Centre so far as corruption is concerned," he said while referring to the various scams rocking Orissa.

BJP was emerging as an alternative in Orissa as the people were fed up with both BJD and Congress due to scandals and corruption, Gadkari said.
People of Orissa are preparing a `Ghar Phero Abhijan` (return to home) for BJD leaders," he said while mocking the BJD`s `Ghar Chalo Abhijan` campaign.

Holding both Centre and the state governments responsible for the price rise, he said petrol price was hiked seven times in the last six months.

BJP state president Jual Oram alleged that corruption was rampant in this BJD rule and Congress leaders could learn from it the "trick` to maintain a clean image while indulging in corruption.

BJP senior leaders Santosh Gangwar, Baldev Punj, Bijay Mohapatra, B B Harichandan, Dharmendra Pradhan also addressed the rally.
