Malkangiri: About 17 students of
a government-run primary school were taken ill after eating
mid-deal meal in Orissa`s tribal-dominated Malkangiri district
The incident took place at Digal Upper Primary School
in Kalimela area when first batch of 17 students, aged between
6 and 11 years, took the meal, Kalimela BDO Duryodhan Nayak
The children complained of nausea and vomiting as soon
as they took the meal.
Noticing their condition, the food were not served to
about 20 other students, the BDO said.
All the affected students have been admitted to the
Community Health Centre at Kalimela and the condition of four
of them was stated to be serious, Nayak said.
Efforts were on to ascertain the reason behind the
incident, he added.
