Orissa: 4 arrested in murder case of Cong leader

Four persons were arrested in connection with the murder of advocate and Congress supporter Prakash Sahu of Bikrampur village, police said.

Berhampur: Four persons were
on Monday arrested in connection with the murder of advocate and
Congress supporter Prakash Sahu of Bikrampur village, police
said.

Prakash was allegedly attacked by BJD supporters at
Chandipitha, near the village. He succumbed to injuries at
MKCG Medical College and Hospital here yesterday, said sub
divisional police officer (Chhatrapur) SK Padhy.

Sahu, an aspirant for the Sarapanch candidate for
Bikrampur gram panchayat election, was attacked just a day
after the Congress supporters held a meeting, where party MLA
from Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena attended.

Goutam Parida, Dhoba Jena, Mitu Pahan and Babula Pahan
were arrested from the nearby jungle during a raid.

These four are the prime accused in the murder case,
Padhy said.

Most of the males in the village had fled from the
village apprehending arrest after which police has been
deployed in the village.
