A ruling BJD MLA on Monday moved a privilege notice against Orissa Revenue Minister SN Patro saying his rights as a legislator had been hurt due to the minister`s statement on his resignation.

During Zero Hour, former minister and senior BJD MLA,
Damodar Rout informed the assembly that he had moved a
privilege notice against the revenue minister for his remarks
in the House on Saturday.
"Only chief minister can make any remark on my statement
and not the revenue minister," Rout said.
When Rout wanted to speak more on the subject, Speaker
Pradip Kumar Amat said, "I have got your privilege notice and
it is under my examination."

statement saying that chief minister Naveen Patnaik had lost
confidence in the Paradip MLA due to his casteist remark
against the dalits.
"He (Rout) should have resigned on his own after being
chargsheeted by the police and securing a bail from the High
Court on the issue. But he did not do that. Therefore, the
chief minister asked him to resign," Patro had said on
