Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress leader Sarat Kar today slammed BJP leaders for seeking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s resignation after Rahul Gandhi`s attack on the ordinance on lawmakers and said the demand showed their "short sightedness in politics."

"BJP leaders should learn what parliamentary democracy and cabinet system in government means. Because of their partial and short sightedness in politics due to RSS hangover, they are unable to understand real inner democracy of Congress party," said Kar, a former Odisha assembly Speaker.

Stating that Rahul`s statement reflected a real leader`s opinion and his belief in clean politics, Kar said this does not mean the prime minister should resign instantly as it does not also challenge his "self respect" as BJP claimed. "Rather PM has reacted in a manner from abroad which certifies his dignity of open mindedness," he said.

Maintaining that the episode showed the elasticity of cabinet system under parliamentary democracy, the Congress leader said BJP leaders cannot imagine such flexibilities due to RSS influence on them.
