Swine flu claims another victim in Orissa, toll five

A senior state government official in Orissa died of swine flu on Tuesday, taking the H1N1 toll in the state to four since August one.

official in Orissa died of swine flu on Tuesday, taking the H1N1
toll in the state to four since August one.

The official, a resident of Khandagiri area, died of the
H1N1 virus today after he was admitted to the Kalinga Hospital
here on August five with pneumonia and acute respiratory
distress, Hospital Superintendent B K Mohanty said.
His swab sample, sent for examination, tested positive
for the disease, he said.

With this, the toll in the current bout of swine flu in
the state rose to five. Four patients, two each in Bhubaneswar
and Cuttack, had succumbed to the disease since August one,
official sources said.
The disease had claimed four lives in the state last
year, they said.
