Tea seller spreading message of conservation of water

 A tea-seller from Kharagpur is on a month-long mission to spread the message of protection of environment and conservation of water.

Berhampur: A tea-seller from Kharagpur is on a month-long mission to spread the message of protection of environment and conservation of water.

Thirty-five-year-old A Ravi was here on Friday after setting off from the West Bengal city on April 3. He stopped near Khallikote Autonomous College and spoke to people about topics close to his heart.

"The problem of water scarcity can be solved if we stop wastage. We should drastically reduce fuel consumption by using bicycle", he said. Ravi intends to reach Hyderabad by April end to wind up his journey.

Ravi particularly aims at speaking to youths. "I hope people will stop wasting water and work for protecting the environment," he said.

He has already covered many parts of West Bengal and Odisha. He carries minimum luggage and cycles 60 to 70 km a day

on the national highway, while resting at dhabas at night. He has not faced any problems during his journey so far.

"The only problem is the scorching heat. Whenever necessary I rest on the roadside during the afternoon," he added.
