Tribal man beheaded in Odisha for practising sorcery

A 62-year-old tribal man was beheaded allegedly by a fellow tribesman in Odisha's Balasore district on the suspicion that he practised sorcery, police said on Friday.

Balasore: A 62-year-old tribal man was beheaded allegedly by a fellow tribesman in Odisha's Balasore district on the suspicion that he practised sorcery, police said on Friday.

The accused surrendered before the police with the severed head after committing the crime at Baghajanta village, about 30 km from here on Wednesday evening and was arrested, sub-divisional police officer of Nilagiri, Swapnaranjan Mahapatra said.

The accused confessed to the police that he had beheaded Dukhi Singh as he suspected him of practising black magic, which made his family members suffer from various ailments, he said.
