Jajpur (Odisha): Two persons were killed in a clash between two groups at a village in Odisha`s Jajpur district after which police arrested 13 people from both sides on Sunday, police said.

About 12 people attacked some members of the rival group with sharp edged weapons and sticks at Bhalinuagaon, critically injuring Akuli Malllick (40) who died on way to hospital late last night, they said.

Soon after his death, angry members of his group retaliated and launched a counter-attack killing Digambar Mallick (50) in the wee hours today, police said.

Police seized both the bodies and sent for post-mortem to the district headquarter hospital.

Police also arrested 13 persons from both groups in connection with the violent clash and filed two cases against both the sides.

The clash was a fallout of a heated argument between two factions of the ruling party of the same village that had taken place at a `Palli Sabha on Friday, police said.
