Two women tourists were feared drowned after they went for a holy dip near a sea beach at Swargadwar area here, police said.

The women, identified as Satyabrati Naik (30) and Jamuna
Khako (25), were swept away by a high tide, inspector-in-
charge of the local police station Amulya Kumar Dhar said.

Life guards are unable to trace the two missing women and
and the search is on, Dhar said.

The women were part of a 20-member tourist group from
Koraput visiting Puri and Konark on the occasion of `Magha
Saptami`.

At least 25 people had drowned while taking a bath in the
sea last year, the police said.
