Vehicle lifters arrested in Orissa

Rourkela: Two inter-state vehicle lifters
were nabbed and 13 stolen costly four-wheeler vehicles seized
from Sakchi are in neighbouring Jharkhand, police said Monday.

A police team from Sundergarh raided different areas
in Sakchi and arrested Md Khalid and Hari Das and also seized
13 stolen four-wheelers including three trucks, costly cars
and jeeps, yesterday, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar

The gang, with their Orissa associates, had stolen the
vehicles from Sambalpur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Keonjhar and
Anugul (all in Orissa) and from Chhatisgarh.

With yesterday`s arrests, seven members of the gang
have been nabbed and a total of 18 stolen vehicles seized
during the past week.
Police had earlier arrested five looters and seized
five stolen vehicles from Rajgangpur area on October 4.
The raids were conducted after a complaint received
from Sobha Chandra Nayak of Sundergarh town, whose two
vehicles were stolen by the gang, the SP said.
