Bhubaneswar: Opposition Congress on Tuesday
demanded immediate tabling of the Lokpal's special report on
the controversial Vedanta University project as Governor M C
Bhadare had already sent it back to the state government.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition
Bhupinder Singh alleged that the government was deliberately
hiding the report from members of the House.
"We want to know as to why the government is not tabling
the Lokpal's special report. Under whose instruction the
report is not being laid on the Floor of the Assembly," Singh
asked criticising the state government for 'sitting over the
report'.
Stating that the state government had no right to
suppress Lokpal's special report, the Congress leader said
that the Lokpal had found fault with the manner land was
acquired for the private university in Puri district.
His party colleague Nabakishore Das and Chakradhar Paik
also made similar demands and sought immediate tabling of the
report for information of the general public.
