Prakash was allegedly attacked by BJD supporters at Chandipitha, near the village. He succumbed to injuries at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here yesterday, said sub divisional police officer (Chhatrapur) SK Padhy.

Sahu, an aspirant for the Sarapanch candidate for Bikrampur gram panchayat election, was attacked just a day after the Congress supporters held a meeting, where party MLA from Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena attended.

Goutam Parida, Dhoba Jena, Mitu Pahan and Babula Pahan were arrested from the nearby jungle during a raid.

These four are the prime accused in the murder case, Padhy said.
