Malkangiri: Four of the six persons kidnapped by Maoists three days ago suspecting them to
be police informers from Orissa's Malkangiri district, have been released.
"The Maoists have released four of the six abducted persons yesterday. Two are still in their captivity," Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri, Aniruddha Singh said today.
"The fate of the other two hostages is not known. We are trying to ascertain their whereabouts," Singh said.
The Maoists made the six, abducted from Potteru village in the MV-79 police station limits, about 85 km from here adjoining Andhra Pradesh border, appear before a kangaroo
court, before setting four free, police sources said.
The freed villagers, belonging to the Koya tribe, were in a state of panic and unable to narrate their experience, police said quoting the villagers.
