Phulbani: Two boys, aged eight
and three years old were attacked and critically injured with a sharp weapon at Panasanju village of Kandhamal district by a
youth suspected to be mentally retarded, police said Tuesday.
The two boys, who are siblings, were alone in their house when they were attacked by their neighbour yesterday.
The man allegedly barged into the boys' house and
stabbed them with a sharp weapon. The family members were out
on work in the fields.
The two were admitted to the local public health
centre and later to MKCG Medical College Hospital where their
condition was stated to be critical.
Investigation into the incident was on, the police
added.
