Deogarh: A seven-month-old
tribal girl was burnt to death allegedly by her father at
Bijaynagar village in Orissa, police said on Sunday.
The infant's parents Silai Haiburu and Sukrumuni
Haiburu picked up a quarrel in an inebriated state last night
during which the child's father threw her into the earthern
oven, the police quoted the mother as having said.
Silai, however, refuted the allegation and claimed
that the child had inadvertently crawled into the oven and
could not be rescued.
The tribal couple have two sons and three daughters
besides the victim, who was youngest of all.
