AI strike: Indian rugby team held at Mumbai airport Mumbai: A 25-member Indian rugby team, with five officials, were stuck at city airport on Tuesday after their flight was cancelled due to the strike by a section of Air India union.

"We arrived here from Pune this morning to catch a flight for Delhi. However, we were told that the flight has been cancelled due to the strike," a team player told reporters.

The team, which was to participate in the conditioning camp for the five-nation Rugby Tournament starting from June 2, is awaiting for an alternate flight after arriving here this morning.

"We had to attend a conditioning camp today in New Delhi for the forthcoming Rugby Tournament but now we will miss it," the player said.

"Sports Authority of India (SAI) officials are trying to arrange an alternate flight," the player added.
