The FIH list of nominees for both the Men's Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year are similar in the sense that none mention any Indian player for the prestigious awards.

Running for the Men's Player of the Year aware are Spaniard Pol Amat, Australian Jamie Dwyer, Barry Middleton of England, Teun de Nooijer of the Netherlands, Korean Jong Ho Seo and German Christopher Zeller.

For the Men's Young Player of the Year, New Zealander Simon Child, Spaniard Sergi Enrique, German Tobias Hauke, Englishman Ashley Jackson, Dutch Robbert Kemperman and Australian Eddie Ockenden have been shortlisted.

All players participating in the Champions Trophy had their chance to vote and out of the votes received, the FIH established a short list.
