Singh said the AIU had held a meeting on August 3 last to measure points for awarding the MAKA trophy for the years 2008-09 and 2009-10 and all the universities were asked to present their cases.

He said Punjabi University had pointed out many cases of bogus presentation by GNDU.

The allegations raised by Punjabi University, included declaring the GNDU's Tug-of-War team as ineligible as it was not approved by either the Indian Olympic Association or the Sports Ministry.

Similarly, an archer Suman was declared ineligible to participate in the Inter-University competitions.
