Puducherry: A total of 183 nominations were
filed on Thursday in the Union Territory for the April 13 Assembly
polls.
Home and Health Minister E Valsaraj filed his nomination
for the lone seat in Mahe, an enclave of the Union Territory
in Kerala.
In Puducherry which has 23 segments, 143 nominations were
filed while in Karaikal, 40 were filed, election officials
said.
A total of 207 nominations have been filed so far since
the election process was set in motion on March 19.
Seventeen nominations have been filed so far for the lone
segment in Yanam, an enclave of the Union Territory in Andhra
Pradesh, and seven for Mahe, an enclave in Kerala.
The Union Territory has 30 assemby constituencies.
Tomorrow is the last day for filing papers.
