Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Iqbal Singh
and Chief Minister N.Rangasamy greeted the people, particularly the Muslim community, on the occasion of Bakrid Monday.
Lt Governor said Bakrid or Id-ul-Zuha commemorated the spirit of supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and reminded one to be humble and charitable towards the needy and poor.
The festival conveyed the message of strengthening the
spirit of fraternity and brotherhood for a peaceful world.
The Chief Minister underscored the need for promoting
humane qualities, fraternity and the attitude to help others
and more particularly the poor.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office,
V.Narayanasamy, PCC leader A V Subramanian and leaders of
various political parties also greeted the people.
