Muktsar (Punjab): Twenty-one model schools
would be set up in the rural areas of Punjab at a total cost
of Rs 70 crore.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today launched the
scheme and laid the foundation stone of such a school in
Bhagsar village. Poor and bright students would be provided
free education in these schools.
Badal said quality education in villages would enable the
students from rural areas to pursue better job prospects.
Central university at Bathinda and Sri Guru Granth Sahib
University at Fatehgarh Sahib were coming up to boost higher
education sector. Seven government polytechnic colleges, 13
degree colleges and 21 model schools would be established
soon, the CM said.
