Akali MLA’s nephew shoots down Jalandhar hotelier

Chandigarh: In yet another case highlighting the trigger happy ways of the high-and-mighty, Akali Dal MLA Sarabjit Singh Makkar’s nephew Prince shot dead a prominent Jalandhar hotelier and is absconding since then.

Ram Simran Singh Makkar alias Prince Makkar shot Gurkirat Singh, owner of the city’s prominent Selkhon Grand Hotel, yesterday night, after an altercation broke out between them over some issue.

Prince Makkar is also politically active; he is a city councillor, while his uncle Sarabjit Makkar is the MLA from Adampur.

Gurkirat Singh was rushed to a private hospital nearby but he could not be saved and breathed his last one hour later. His body was later shifted to the civil hospital, where the post-mortem would be conducted today.

Intriguingly, Prince and Gurkirat Singh were known to be close buddies and used to party together; what led Prince to kill his friend is yet to be ascertained.

At the time of the incident, Prince was accompanied by three others: Jasdeep Singh (owner of Regent Park hotel), Prince Narula, and Sunny Sachdeva. All of them are also absconding along with Prince.

These people need to be hanged till death. They are the bad apples in our society and example need to be set for our kids. It should not be ignored for the sake of political pressure or any kind of sympathy. Lets get the justice together..Need help ZEE TV..LETS MAKE IT NATIONAL NEWS AND HELP SEKHON FAMILY TO GET THE JUSTICE. LETs NOT MAKE IT ANOTHER JESSICA LAAL CASE> WE NEED JUSTICE AND WE NEED IT NOW.

Help people ..help. raise your voice together,,we need justice. The criminals should get punsihed. Jsutice needs to be served. this makkar family is very well known for their bad deeds in Jalandhar. The ceiminals should get punsihment ASAP.this will be great lesson to those high profile people and politician kids that ITS NOT A OK to commit a crime and get away with it. We people of Jalandhar demand justice for Sekhon family. We will fight untill Gikky vir get justice. this is a punishable crime dat has been made by makkar.. n there is no chance of giving him any kind of relaxation for it.. so its a humble request to the government of india specially jalandhar to take strict actions against him.. n set a new example for dose who take people for granted n make dem loose dere life at no cost..

Could you please provide more coverage on this topic? This is becoming quite apparent in the US as well, and just like the residents of India, we would also like to see as much coverage as possible. If this crime goes unpunished, none of us will be safe any more. Anyone with any amount of money or political association will feel he can shoot out for the most trivial of reasons. This HAS to be punished and punished strongly. I believe the two less involved in the case i.e. Jassu & Narula wish to turn witness but MLA Makkar has threatened to shoot them if they do that. Appalled !
