Batala: A local meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal on Thursday witnessed some acrimonious scenes with members exchanging blows after a heated argument over party's performance in the Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting was convened at Sekhwan in Qadian Assembly seat in connection with the proposed visit of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to the historic town, where he is to lay the foundation stone of various development works on December 10.
The gathering was held at a local college by former education minister and assembly segment incharge Sewa Singh Sekhwan where two party leaders - Dhariwal Wazir Singh Lali and Kanwaljit Singh Lali - engaged in an argument over the party's performance in the Lok Sabha polls, sources said.
Flying into a rage, Wazir Singh Lali allegedly snatched mike from Kanwaljit Singh, following which blows were exchanged between their supporters.
