Amarinder refuses to comment on Badals
Punjab Congress chief stressed that the state had gone down on all fronts during the present Akali regime.
Chandigarh: Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday refused to comment on whether he would reopen cases against the Badals if he was voted to power, saying he has "no time" for them.
Asked whether he will propose re-opening of cases against Badals if Congress returns to power, he told reporters, "I have no time for Badals now”.
He, however, stressed that Punjab had gone down on all fronts during the present Akali regime and his focus would be to bring back the state on the path of development.
A court in Mohali last year had exonerated Badals in a corruption case which the Amarinder Singh government had filed against the family after assuming power.
When his attention was drawn towards the division in Shiromani Akali Dal with Badal`s nephew Manpreet Singh Badal floating a new outfit, Amarinder exuded confidence that in the forthcoming polls Congress will decimate the Akalis.
"Whether they (Akalis) are united or divided...we will defeat them in the polls," he said.
He also expressed happiness over the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. "I am happy on this occasion...we would have liked to participate in it...I wish happiness to the couple."
