Chandigarh: Amritsar was the coldest place in the plains of Punjab and Haryana with 9.1 degree Celsius on Saturday as minimum temperatures dropped by a few notches, the Meteorological Department said here.
While the minimum at Amritsar settled two notches below normal, Ludhiana also saw mercury drop by three degrees to settle at 9.2 deg C.
The low at Patiala was 10 deg C.
The minimum at Chandigarh also dropped by two notches to record 10.2 deg C.
In Haryana, Ambala was the coldest place at 9.4 deg C, down two notches, while the low at Karnal was 12 deg C.
Hisar registered a minimum temperature of 14.9 deg C, down one, while the low at Bhiwani was 15.2 deg C.
Gurgaon recorded a low of 16 deg C, the Met said.
