Sangrur: The mortal remains of two
young Indian brothers, who were killed allegedly by a
compatriot in the Australian city of Perth earlier this month,
were Sunday consigned to flames.

The atmosphere was surcharged with emotion as Swaran
Singh Dhaliwal, father of the slain brothers Navdeep Singh
(22) and Kamaldeep Singh (20), lit the pyres as a host of kin
and locals looked on.

State PWD Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa on behalf of
Punjab government laid wreaths on the bodies of the two
brothers while local MP Vijay Inder Singla did so for the
Congress party.

The two brothers died on February 12 after being
grievously injured in a fight over money and living
arrangements at a rented Crimea Street unit in Morley area at
Perth, where they were believed to have been staying with two
others.

Earlier, the mortal remains of the two brothers arrived
at the rented house of their parents at Subhash Nagar before
dawn in two separate ambulances.
